SEAGER presents Natural Rhythm and Other Moral Panic, a group exhibition, curated by Lucy Soni, bringing together eight artists working around or alongside digital technological processes.

Current discussions surrounding AI feature heavily on the implications impacting the originality of the artwork. This exhibition questions how creatives might combat such perceived threats in contemporary art today. The selected artists highlight an approach to our ever progressing digital world while maintaining a commitment inclusive of the human hand. 

Technological progress is moving at an unflinching speed towards a goal or purpose that we are struggling to comprehend. In this current digital climate, the act of human creation with physical materials comes into contradiction and contrast with the increasing abilities of generative tools and artificial intelligence. In a moment when even AI ethicists are struggling to find the moral centre, artists and creatives must adapt in order to sustain their practices within this new framework.

The artists selected for this exhibition all show an attempt to embrace and subvert digital technologies within their practice. Their works are rooted in an analogue approach to making that then engages and undergoes a computational process. The overriding impression is not that the works are built using assistive technology, but that they are informed by it. 

Natural Rhythm and Other Moral Panic offers a place where concerns surrounding our new digital world can be questioned and addressed. The artist and the audience align in the moment, as they both come to witness a certain fragility in the way that the world is progressing, while simultaneously showcasing the essence of what it means to be an artist.

LUCY SONI

Lucy Soni (b.1973, Kent) lives and works in London. She is represented by Voltz Clarke Gallery, New York City, USA.

Shows include, DECENNIUM, Hestercombe Gallery, Somerset (2024); Changing Atmospheres, Hestercombe Gallery, Somerset (2021); John Moores Painting Prize, Walker Art Gallery, and Mega Hammer. Her work can be found in public and private collections in the UK and internationally. Soni’s founded and co-curates BLINK, an artist-led platfom, set up in 2021. Her most recent solo show was at Voltz Clarke Gallery, NYC, in 2026.

EVA SAJOVIC

Eva Sajovic (b1976) is a Slovene artist who lives and works in London, UK. She is a Senior Lecturer at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London. In 2025 she held a Fine Art Fellowship at the British School at Rome. Sajovic’s work is held in the Arts Council Collection, in the Bauhaus -Weimar collection and several private collections.

IAN DAWSON

Ian Dawson (b.1969) is a British sculptor, artist, writer and educator. He is Professor and Head of Sculpture at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, where he also co-directs The Material Lab. Dawson co-leads the MASS Sculpture Programme. He is the author of Making Contemporary Sculpture (Crowood Press). His work is represented in significant public and private collections internationally.

KIM THORNTON

Kim Thornton uses humour and rebellion to explore contemporary issues, the politics of being female and stereotypical roles and their value. She creates surprise narratives using a multidisciplinary practice encompassing making, photography, film, performance and installation. She has exhibited in the UK and internationally with work held in corporate and private collections.

LAURA MORETON-GRIFFITHS

Laura Moreton-Griffiths (British, b. 1967) is an artist and writer whose storytelling reimagines past, present and future, thinking about different ways of experiencing history. Working across painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, experimental film, live performance, poetry and speculative fiction, her work has been exhibited inLondon and nationally, and is held in private collections.

SI SAPSFORD

Si Sapsford MRSS is a London-based sculptor whose practice spans kinetic installation, ceramics, drawing, photography and moving image. Her work explores movement, instability, memory and the precarious relationship between control and chance, often using familiar objects and materials to consider collapse, fragility and resistance. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the National Portrait Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, Zabludowicz Collection, Sheffield Galleries & Museums Trust, Compton Verney and venues across Australia, Brazil and Europe. She is a Member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and has received the BP Travel Award, among other awards and recognitions.

TERESA PAIVA

Teresa Paiva is a multidisciplinary artist , art educator and yoga facilitator currently based in London, UK. Rooted in materiality, transformation, memory and contingency, works manifest primarily across sculpture, installation & performance , delving into quasi-ritualistic processes of collecting, assembling and disassembling. With a keen interest in collaborative and participatory practices, she has co-curated and initiated several projects along the years , both nationally and internationally including most recently 'Sacred Tides - align. flow & rise ( Ethiopia, 2023), and developed in Portugal as participatory project in 2022, and was part of Neo Norte arts collective presenting work in collaboration with other artists throughout London (2019/2021).

Animal Dreams is the collaborative art practice of Ella Soni (b. 2002, London) and Martha Lowres (b. 2002, Leicester).
