The power of the “everyday” is small yet immense, lurking in repetitive routines, gradually crystallising each individual life into a very different form.

This exhibition revolves around the reflections of seven artists on everyday life. Their attitudes are varied, but they all choose to construct alternative scenarios of life through performative practices.


Ruoqi (Kiki) Wang. the artist’s research focuses on contemporary art practices based on Chinese folklore.

Hao Wang Chineseartist and filmmaker. His practice pursues the surreal imagination and sense of: humour, his work is never serious but even kitsch.

Ji Chen is a Chinese artist with a practice in photography, video, installation, sound.

Yadong Li is an artist influenced by the avant-garde and the radicals, and he is keen to challenge new forms of expression and philosophy, adding concepts and theories to his music.

Yingfei Liu is a Chinese artist living in London. She utilises the Internet platform for art practice, exposing the current social, economic and cultural phenomena.

Wei Yuanfeng explores the changes in different cities in China from the 1990s to the present, trying to understand the process of building a modern Chinese society.
